When I first started working with web design clients, I took for granted that they’d know exactly what they wanted their website to look like, and also, where they wanted to go with their business.

By branding, I mean more than just having a logo idea, or wanting to use certain quotes or images, but the BIG picture. A brand is what you do, who you do it for, why you do it, and what makes you unique. It becomes your visual identity and informs your design choices. Branding is the foundation for marketing yourself in the world. When you get clear on your brand, from there, you can build logos, graphics, websites, and web copy.

Once I worked with my clients on branding BEFORE we created their website and design content, their clarity crystallized and their confidence soared. They were energized and excited to move forward and able to spend more time on what they wanted to do in the world.
